Accessibility Statement

Valley West Mortgage wants this website to work for everyone, including people who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control, or keyboard only navigation. This statement explains what we aim for, where we currently stand, and how to reach us if something does not work for you.

Our commitment

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more usable for people with disabilities. Accessibility is an ongoing effort for our team, not a one time project.

Conformance status

We consider valleywestmortgage.com to be partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partially conformant means some parts of the site meet the standard and some parts do not yet. We are identifying and correcting issues over time, working through the ones that affect the most visitors first. We do not claim full or certified compliance with the ADA or WCAG, and this statement should not be read as a guarantee that every page meets every success criterion.

Measures we take

As we build and update pages, we work to:

• Use semantic HTML headings and landmarks so screen reader and keyboard users can navigate the page in a logical order
• Write descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images
• Keep interactive elements such as menus, buttons, and form fields operable by keyboard alone
• Maintain readable color contrast in new design work
• Label form fields clearly and announce errors to assistive technology, not by color alone
• Periodically test key pages with keyboard only navigation and screen readers

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some content is not yet fully accessible. Known limitation areas include:

• Third party rate quote and loan application tools embedded on some pages, which we do not fully control and are working with our vendors to improve
• PDF documents and other downloadable files, some of which predate our current accessibility process
• Older pages built before our current design and development standards, which we are migrating over time
