VP, Secondary Marketing

What you'll do:

Valley West Mortgage is seeking a VP of Secondary Marketing to join its growing team. This is a challenging and dynamic role requiring complex problem-solving skills, working knowledge of Capital Markets and experience in Secondary Marketing trading and pricing. The ideal candidate will have previously demonstrated the ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment, a strong academic background in finance, and excellent communication skills. As part of one of the country’s most active residential mortgage markets, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside industry leading talent in a fast paced and friendly environment and help guide Valley West Mortgage into the next phase of our growth.

What we are looking for:

• Price and purchase mortgage loans through the bidding of bulk and mini-bulk pools
• Assist in the hedging of Valley West Mortgage’s pipeline, including the potential buying and selling of TBA securities and other hedge instruments
• Perform competitive analysis and recommend updates to pricing in order to maximize company volume and revenue
• Utilize financial models for quantitative analysis, trading and loan securitization
• Perform Best Ex analysis for the pooling of loans into agency mortgage-backed securities and whole loan commitments
• Communicate effectively with clients, trading partners, and the Sales Team on trade related issues

What you need to have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics or related field
• 5+ years of relevant work experience
• Strong analytical, math, and critical thinking skills
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience with VBA and/or SQL is a plus
• Experience with Encompass, MCT and Optimal Blue is a plus
