1

Share your goal and timeline
Tell us purchase or refinance, the property city and state, and when you plan to move forward. Keep sensitive records out of this inquiry.

2

Review the full cost
Compare the rate, annual percentage rate (APR), lender fees, points or credits, and cash to close. Ask whether the rate is locked.

3

Past customer experiences

These are individual past experiences, not a current rate offer or a promise of timing, savings, approval, or results. Rates and loan terms mentioned in a review were specific to that customer and transaction.

Know what changes your mortgage quote

Start with a clear question
Buying in Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, or elsewhere? Include the property city and state so a loan officer can discuss the next step.
Compare the same loan
Match the loan amount, purpose, property use, and loan term. A lower headline rate may come with higher upfront costs.
Keep records secure
Use this inquiry for a short description. Ask your loan officer for the approved document-upload route before sharing tax returns or account statements.
Ask about costs
Request an explanation of lender fees, points, credits, and cash to close. A lender credit may reduce upfront costs in exchange for a higher rate.
Plan around your timeline
Tell us your target closing date and ask what is still needed. Timing depends on your application, property, and underwriting; closing dates are not guaranteed.
Separate a quote from approval
A quote request does not establish eligibility, commit you to a loan, or lock a rate. Ask what happens before a credit check or application.

Questions to ask before choosing a quote

Compare written terms for the same scenario. These answers explain what to check; they are not a current rate offer.
What mortgage rate can I get in Las Vegas?

Your quote depends on the loan scenario, market conditions, and lender review. Start with purchase or refinance, property city and state, expected timing, and an approximate loan amount if known. Do not assume an advertised rate is available for your file.

Is the interest rate the same as APR?

No. The interest rate is the cost of borrowing before fees. The annual percentage rate (APR) is a broader measure that includes the rate and certain other loan charges. Compare like loan types and review fees and payment details too; APR alone does not decide which loan is right for you.

Can I compare quotes with different points or credits?

You can, but first ask for the same loan assumptions. Discount points are an upfront charge paid to lower the rate. Lender credits can offset closing costs in exchange for a higher rate. Compare each option with your available cash and how long you expect to keep the loan.

Does requesting a quote lock my rate?

No rate lock is created by this inquiry. Ask the lender whether the rate is locked, when the lock expires, and what a change or extension could cost. A locked rate can still change when the application changes or the lock conditions are not met.

What should I compare on a Loan Estimate?

Compare the same loan type and term. Review the interest rate, APR, origination charges, points or credits, estimated total monthly payment, cash to close, and rate-lock status. Make sure taxes, insurance, and any mortgage insurance are included where applicable.

What should I send with my first inquiry?

A brief purchase or refinance goal, property city and state, and timeline are enough to start the conversation. If you already have a quote, mention that you want a comparison. Do not send Social Security numbers, account numbers, tax returns, or loan documents through this form.
